Hi, I’m Amanda
Registered Acupuncturist | Women's Health Advocate | Documentary Filmmaker
I came to acupuncture the way many people do, out of desperation. Years of repetitive strain injury in my wrist had left me in chronic pain, and nothing I tried was giving me lasting relief. Acupuncture changed that. The results were so profound that I couldn't stop thinking about what else it could do and that curiosity eventually led me to study it myself.
Today I believe the way we support people through pain, pregnancy, birth and beyond matters enormously, and that natural, holistic healthcare has a profound role to play in that. From fertility and pregnancy to perimenopause, pain and everything in between, I believe every person deserves genuinely good healthcare.
I'm a registered acupuncturist with a Bachelor of Health Science and over 11 years of experience, practising under AHPRA with the ability to offer health fund rebates. But my passion for women's health goes well beyond the clinic.
You might also know me as the producer of Born at Home; an Australian documentary exploring natural birth, co-created because I wanted to start a bigger conversation about how we support women through one of the most significant experiences of their lives. The film toured nationally, screened internationally and continues to be watched by thousands of women across the globe.
My clinical work and my advocacy work come from exactly the same place, a deep belief that people deserve access to honest, effective, empowering, evidence-based health education and treatment.
My Approach How I work
I'm all about getting to the root cause, not just managing symptoms. Every person who comes to see me gets a thorough consultation and a treatment plan that's genuinely tailored to them. I bring curiosity, warmth, and over 11 years of clinical experience to every appointment.
I have a particular focus on supporting women through fertility, pregnancy, birth preparation, the postpartum period and perimenopause, though I treat a wide range of conditions including headaches, back pain, knee pain, stress and anxiety, and genuinely enjoy the variety that Chinese medicine offers.
Outside the clinic I'm a mum of two, which means I understand firsthand what it's like to put everyone else first and let your own health slide. Between kids, a DIY addiction and a love of rock climbing, I know what it means to live in a busy, physical body and I bring that understanding into the treatment room every day.
I'll never make you feel rushed, judged, or like just another appointment. You'll always leave knowing exactly what we're working on and why.

-

Acupuncture
Acupuncture involves the gentle insertion of thin, sterile needles into specific points on the body to stimulate your body's natural healing response. Point combinations are carefully selected to address your unique presentation whether that's pain, hormonal imbalance, stress, or fertility support. Most people are surprised by how relaxing it is.
-

Cupping
Cupping uses glass or plastic cups applied to the skin to improve circulation, release muscle tension and support the body's natural healing. Particularly effective for back pain, tight muscles and stress held in the body. Often used alongside acupuncture for deeper relief.
-

Moxibustion
Moxibustion involves burning a herb called Mugwort near specific acupuncture points to increase circulation, relieve pain and improve energy. Commonly used in pregnancy to encourage optimal positioning of babies, and as a warming therapy for pain and fatigue.
-

electro-acupuncture
Similar to traditional acupuncture but with a gentle electrical pulse applied to the needles to enhance stimulation. Particularly useful for labour activation, chronic pain, persistent injuries, stress and neurological conditions.
-

chinese medicine
Chinese herbal medicine uses carefully prescribed formulas, typically delivered as capsules or pills to support a wide range of conditions alongside your acupuncture treatment. Formulas are tailored specifically to you and your presentation. All formulas are ethically sourced and free from endangered species.
